infranatural was started in 2004 by Jenna Didier and Oliver Hess as their design partnership needed to become more distinct from Materials & Applications, the r&d exhibit space they curate, and Fountainhead Water Engineering, the water feature design and engineering firm Jenna Didier founded in 1994.

infranatural is a design collaborative that works with embedded technology systems like machine vision, artificial intelligence and networked systems to generate real space and time phenomena in the public realm. Our approach to public sculpture recontextualizes vernacular civic architecture forms as foundations for free form expression - taking cues from the environmental, cultural, and historic factors preexisting at a site.

infranatural is a design team that pulls together members to collaborate on projects. The members of the team are selected depending on the skills and experience needed for each project.

CONCEPT DESIGN: Includes full-color renderings and 3D visualizations. Team-based process creates a lively design environment with extraordinary results. Thorough knowledge of mechanical equipment, electrical components, fabrication, and installation accompanies a vigorous and creative approach to problem solving for each project. Budget and milestone planning are integral to the process.

ENGINEERING AND DESIGN: Accurate and streamlined, working directly from project blueprints or original drawings into AutoCAD documents. Engineer-approved construction documentation provided where appropriate. Complete equipment specifications accompany all plans.

FABRICATION: Special components or effects created for custom installations using tested "new" materials like acrylic and use of non-corrosive metals, glass, marble, or stone. Regular use of rapid-fabrication technologies to maximize project scope while keeping within the budget.

SUPERVISION: On-site installation supervision for smooth installation and trouble shooting prior to completion included in quote for every project. Contractors supervised with the insight and planning skills gained from extensive experience in project management, production design, and high-end art fabrication.
